Meet & Greet

We meet every new arrival within 24 hours, providing an immediate welcome. Each person receives a comprehensive care pack containing toiletries, non-perishable food, and vital information translated into their language. This first contact is often the only friendly face they see for weeks.

Clothing & Essentials

Most arrivals have only the clothes they are wearing. We provide weather-appropriate clothing and footwear for all ages, toiletries, nappies, baby formula, and non-perishable food. We run a small food bank and clothing store from our Aberdeen hub, entirely donation-funded.

Language Café & ESOL

Our weekly Language Café offers relaxed English conversation practice with native speakers over coffee and biscuits. We also provide structured ESOL classes to help service users develop the language skills they need to navigate daily life, access services, and integrate into the community.

Appointment & Admin Support

We help service users register with GPs and dentists, write emails to solicitors and the Home Office, fill in forms, and understand official correspondence. We accompany them to appointments when needed and help connect them to specialist services including legal aid and housing support.

Community Integration

We connect individuals with existing diaspora communities in Aberdeen and organise cultural exchange events, shared meals, and celebration days. Building friendships and a sense of belonging is central to our mission. We also signpost to local sports, arts, and wellbeing activities.

Trauma-Informed Support

Many of our service users have experienced significant trauma. We provide a safe, non-judgemental space and signpost to specialist trauma-informed counselling and mental health services. Our volunteers are trained in trauma-aware approaches to ensure every interaction is supportive and appropriate.

Transport & Befriending

We help service users navigate public transport, accompany them to appointments, and provide befriending support. Simple acts like showing someone how to buy a bus ticket or walking with them to a new place can make a huge difference.

Donation Distribution

We collect, sort, and distribute donated goods including clothing, toiletries, household items, and food. Our hub operates as a dignified choice-based service where individuals can select what they need. We also distribute SIM cards, phone credit, and essential documents pouches.

Advocacy & Awareness

We raise awareness about the realities faced by people seeking asylum in Scotland. We advocate for fair treatment, humane policies, and adequate support. Our team provides talks to community groups, schools, and churches about the asylum system and how to help.
