Volunteer

We are entirely volunteer-led and always need more hands. Whether you can spare an hour a week or several days, your time makes a direct difference.

  • Hub support — sorting donations, welcoming visitors
  • ESOL tutoring — help with English language
  • Befriending — companionship and social support
  • Drivers — transport donations or accompany to appointments
  • Fundraising — events, grants, corporate partnerships
  • Admin & professional skills — IT, finance, legal, comms

Donate Goods

We accept donations of essential items at our Aberdeen hub. Every item goes directly to someone who needs it.

  • Clean, wearable clothing (all seasons, all sizes)
  • Toiletries — soap, shampoo, toothpaste, sanitary products
  • Non-perishable food — rice, pasta, tinned goods, baby food
  • Nappies, baby wipes, formula
  • Household items — bedding, towels, kitchen basics
  • Suitcases and bags — many arrive with nothing to carry belongings

Financial Support

Monetary donations allow us to buy exactly what is needed, when it is needed. Every pound goes directly to supporting our service users.

  • £10 — provides a full care pack for a new arrival
  • £25 — funds a week of ESOL classes
  • £50 — stocks our food bank for a day
  • £100 — provides winter coats for 5 people
  • One-off or monthly giving available
  • Gift Aid can be added at no extra cost

Other Ways to Help

Spread the Word

Follow AARC on social media, share our posts, and talk about our work with friends, family, and colleagues. Raising awareness is one of the most powerful things you can do.

Corporate Partnership

We welcome partnerships with local businesses. Options include financial sponsorship, payroll giving, donation drives, pro-bono professional services, and employee volunteering days.

Fundraise for Us

Organise a bake sale, sponsored run, quiz night, or any event you enjoy. We can provide materials, a JustGiving page, and promotional support. Every fundraiser makes a tangible difference.

Community Group Talks

Invite an AARC speaker to your church, school, rotary club, or community group. We give free talks about the asylum system, refugee experiences, and how your group can help.
